Siding can make your home or business look brand-new. You can freshen the building’s appearance or completely change its look by moving to a different cladding material such as cedar or stone. Siding greatly increases your energy efficiency, too. We can install solid-core siding, which has the insulation built right into the product, or put up regular vinyl siding over your existing insulation.

Our experts help you choose the best siding for your home or business based on the climate, the age of the structure, the color you want and the look you wish to achieve, and how much maintenance is reasonable. We suggest any ‘extras’ you might like such as shutters, soffitts, and guttering appropriate for the look. Our products are certified by the Vinyl Siding Institute program.

New siding increases the value of your home, and it is likely that you will recoup your investment. It almost completely frees the owner from maintenance, and if you choose to sell your home you may find that you can ask a higher price.

The range of siding materials is extensive.

Vinyl (PVC, or polyvinyl chloride) is the most popular siding product on the market because it is impervious to extreme temperatures. As a safety benefit, it is slow to ignite and burns slower, too. It will never need painting, and it can be made to resemble other materials, such as wood, or it can be patterned. Almost maintenance free and easily replaceable, this product can completely change the appearance of your building. With a once-a-year power wash, your home can look pristine every year.

Aluminum siding, which is lightweight and resistant to rust, is another popular siding choice. This enameled material does not need painting, and it can have a pattern resembling wood. This material can dent, however, and repair or replacement can be expensive.

Hardiplank, a fiber cement product, is gaining popularity in the United States. It is a low-maintenance product, but unlike vinyl, this product is more similar in look to wood. It is available pre-finished in paint, which is good for about fifteen years. Its biggest selling feature may be that it is a non-combustible product. That’s serious home protection.

Wooden siding comes in rectangular planking (vertical planks), clapboard, redwood, cypress, cedar – there is a range of varieties. Shakes – which are really just shingles – are hand-split as uniformly as possible, providing a rustic look. They are typically redwood, cypress, or cedar. They are stained for protection, but require more maintenance than other siding products.

Stucco is another surfacing option. It is sand, water and cement laid over wire mesh. It is not suitable for very cold climates, but Louisiana has no such problem.

Veneer is a thin layer of brick or stone, which is a wonderful option for completely changing the look of your home.

Let our experts visit you and discuss the wide range of products on the market that meet your needs.
